I have never been so miserable in my whole life. I can't seem to find a med that works without awful side effects. I am waiting out my 2 week wash-out period of Emsam (causes terrible muscle tension & stiffness).
I was very, very, happy when I took either Lexapro or Celexa, but I couldn't take the terrible bladder spasms, urgency, frequency, pain, etc.
Someone mentioned bethanocol. Has anyone had success taking bethanocol or another drug with an SSRI to counter the bladder problems?
I am desperate.

There must be something for the bladder spasms. And not to sound selfish just wish I could find a med to work for me but think the thyroid issue and old lymes may play into it. Don't know good luck as there are a lot of meds for bladder. Have you talked to a urologist? Phillipa

I have a call in to the urologist. Last time she mentioned maybe Lyrica or Neotonin. We'll see. My poor little serotoin receptors in my bladder are just over sensitized after all these years of SSRIs.
I'm thinking of taking some Abilify - small dose. Of course, it makes me hungry, far and retain water.

There's a urinary tract anesthetic called pyridium which I took years back when I had a major run of bladder issues after a kidney infection. It seemed pretty benign, and it's certainly worth looking into...
Good luck.

Google brought these meds up. Phillipa
Medication which decreases or eliminates muscle spasms. Examples of antispasmodics include Cystospaz®, Detrol®, Ditropan® XL and Levsin®
