I've never taken either and doctor mentioned maybe trying one of these if my current combo doesn't last. Are they close or does pne have less sode effects. Do they "feel" close to the same?

I've taken amitriptyline and did well on it for quite a few years. It helped me sleep as well as my depression.

Nortriptalline plastered me to the bed til 2pm at only l0mg. Best sleep I ever had. Outside of versed for proceedures. Phillipa if it wasn't for Scott's drug chart wouldn't have know that nortip was pamelor. Thanks to Scott.

Nortriptyline comes from amitriptyline, Nortriptyline will effect noradrenaline more and supposdely has fewer side effects (or possibly mor elike the same side effects but less severe?), it's supposed to make you less drowsy than amitriptyline anyway.

I wonder if I have paradoxical effects to meds? Wouldn't that be something would explain why ad's don't work for me. Phillipa
