Do not try this; very dangerous

Posted by chinooktoe on October 26, 2008, at 1:08:29

DO NOT DO WHAT MY FRIEND DID: I have a friend who had clinical depression for many years, tried many meds, without much success. XXX. However, he must have had a mutation for a wooden head because what he did was very dangerous, and his reckless experiment must never be tried by anyone except under stringently safe Government controlled conditions at Universities by the most intelligent people who have been through years of rigorous education. Do not try this, but my friend XXX. He says he felt XXX. Then he XXX, watched an episode of Spongebob Squarepants, talked with his wife, and went to bed. The next morning, he says he felt "different", kind of shaky, but maybe better in some vague way. On the way to work, he turned on the radio, unusual for him. He enjoyed some heavy metal tunes, unusual for a guy who is over the hill. He kidded some people at work, quite uncharacteristic of this eeyore. He slowly began to realize that he was not feeling depressed anymore. He got irritated at some things, which was also unusual for him. He yelled at somebody who was bugging him, and then felt better about that situation. That rarely happened to him. He repeated his bizarre "charging" ritual every evening. And he was never depressed again. Giddy, angry, sad, happy, irritated, joyful, ditzy, yes, but not the grey suffocation of depression. Of course, I do not believe him. I suspect he had suddenly started taking illegal street drugs. XXX. I am sure that if such a simple treatment for chronically depressed people existed, some big corporation would have patented it and marketed it aggressively. Besides, it is so simple and obvious, thousands of gravely depressed people would have at least given it a shot by now. Pharmaceutical companies would be thrilled to encourage a dirt cheap non-medicinal cure, for the good of their customers health and pocketbooks. Thank God the FDA and Big Pharma is there to protect us from such dangerous voodoo "treatments". Just because one or two people, probably with brains rotted by illegal drugs anyway, say their depression has disappeared thanks to XXX, is no reason to dare to try this on yourself, no matter how much depression has sucked away your pitiful "life". Go to your Doctor, try another medication, try several medications at once, keep trying the medications, the Medical Community would never ignore a simple cheap safe treatment, they would never let you suffer and waste your life away unless a life threatening Danger lurked in XXX. Look at how safe the Financial Community has kept our economy! Big Medicine and Big Money is our best friend. It is far safer to be be put into a semicoma by general anesthesia, have your voluntary muscles deactivated by another drug, and then have 5000 volts repeatedly blasted across your frontal cortex by ECT until your brain has a total grand mal seizure than to get XXX. Listen to the Medical Community. Do not question It. Stay safe at all costs. Don't try anything yourself just because you "heard about it on the Web". There is no alternative but medications, ECT, medications, ECT, medications, ECT, medications, ECT, medications, ECT, medications, ECT, medica. . . . . . . . . . . .

You are right, most of us are too stupid to be trusted with XXX. But if you put it in a fancy box and price it at $495.00, the FDA thinks it is an effective treatment:

XXX

Moeller Medical, LLC announces today its distribution of an FDA-cleared XXX that effectively treats depression, anxiety, insomnia, and pain.

Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) August 1, 2006 -- Moeller Medical, LLC announces today its distribution of an FDA-cleared XXX that effectively treats depression, anxiety, insomnia, and pain.

Increases in cerebrospinal fluid level of beta-endorphins up to 219%, plasma endorphins up to 98%, and cerebrospinal fluid serotonin up to 200% have been demonstrated in normal volunteers receiving 20 minutes of CES.

depression anxietyUnlike traditional shock therapy, this treatment, called XXX (CES), delivers a dose of XXX that is almost undetectable. These "XXX" attempt to mimic the bodys own natural XXX function. In doing so, it is thought that they stimulate the areas of the brain responsible for neurotransmitter and hormone production. Most patients report a decrease in symptoms after just one treatment session. This supports clinical studies that show an increase in patients' serotonin and beta-endorphin levels immediately after use.

"Patients with treatment-resistant depression have shown significant elevations in plasma serotonin" said Marshall F. Gilula, M.D. and Paul R. Barach, M.D. from University of Miamis School of Medicine. "Increases in cerebrospinal fluid level of beta-endorphins up to 219%, plasma endorphins up to 98%, and cerebrospinal fluid serotonin up to 200% have been demonstrated in normal volunteers receiving 20 minutes of CES."

Interestingly, XXX is actually very safe compared to most medication. It has almost no side effects and can be used for any age group. In contrast, most antidepressant and anti-anxiety medication on the market now carry Black Box Warning labels and many are not approved for use in minors.

With new non-drug treatments emerging such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) by Neuronetics, Inc. and Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) by Cyberonics, Inc., Moeller Medical thinks it has found a much needed niche in this arena. VNS and TMS therapy, while their actions differ from CES, also provide XXX of the brain. VNS requires invasive surgery to implant a device which can be very prohibitive for some and TMS is not yet accessible to the public. CES is a readily available, easy to implement treatment for patients.

While its indications are restricted to depression, anxiety, insomnia, and pain, recent research has shown promising results with disorders such as fibromyalgia, migraine headaches, and ADHD.

"We have demonstrated that active treatment with CES results in significant improvement in a number of clinical parameters associated with fibromyalgia. The results of our investigation appear to be most encouraging, given the refractory nature of fibromyalgia pain to conventional pain management," says Randall C. Cork, M.D., Ph.D., from Louisiana State Universitys Health Sciences Center.

"Fibromyalgia affects millions of patients worldwide who are often resistant to or cannot tolerate medication," said Moeller Medical President and CEO, Karl Moeller. "It is exciting to be able to work toward a positive treatment option for this often debilitating syndrome."

Well, I'm off to Dunkin Donuts now. Then to my doctor for a Lipitor refill.

Sounds like a mild homemade version of XXX. I was reading somewhere about XXX are used and it can work. I would suspect any higher than normal amount of XXX would have to spark some things into action.

I guess someone would have to be real desperate to try something like this. When people with depression get real desperate, they usually use a gun or a noose, so I guess XXX in a creative thought-out strategy is a better option, though obviously unorthodox and risky. Risky and unknown definitely, but hey, the person still has the gift of life.

The XXX could not have been too much because the person was awake the whole time. A serious XXX would have knocked them out cold.

I would be real curious to see what kind of memory impairments, speech impairments, or other mysterious things show up.

Just a reminder though, this is a medication forum. Kind of mysterious the tone and detail the original post had.
