Hellow fellow board readers. I am taking 50 mg of Luvox in the morning and 50mg of Luvox at night. I would appreciate any advice as to how to wean off of Luvox completely. I had no problems getting off of paxil a few years ago. Thanks, in advnace, for any and all help.

Hi is it not working for you? I'm currently on now 75mg of luvox. Funny but had a doc take me off only 50mg of luvox and put me on extremely high doses of benzos and didn't sleep for two weeks. For some reason my body needs it. So are you better or doesn't it work? As you can go up to 250 or 300mg. Love Phillipa

Also see you're new to babble and wish to welcome you. Tons of great posters hear. Hope someone else pops in with some great advise as I'm only one person and we're all different. Love Phillipa

It worked really well for improving my sleep, and pretty well for obsessional thinking. I am now feeling better, although still mild anxiety, but wanted to try life med free.

Abe me too. Are you and your doc in agreement about this decision? As sometimes second time around a med will no longer work. Is this your first bout with depression? If so you might be able to be med free as long as you've taken the med for about 6-9 months from what I've read. Rather envious hope you don't mind but I'd love to be med free. Love Phillipa

Well... if you want to.... I'm not going to tell you what to do but if you have a partnership with your doctor I think you should really consult going off a medication before you think of doing it AMA.
As noted before, there can be consequences -- at that dose, I'm not sure of "next time around" or the like but SSRIs can be very subtle, and 100mg is a small dose, I'm sure getting off of it wouldn't be too hard other than some GI effects or other such things -- Paxil is much worse, but often when people get off of SSRIs they sometimes realize that they were better off on them.
Being medication free is a great goal, but OCD is a lifetime condition, as I know, and it can leave you vulnerable and "unprotected" -- medications are palleatives and keep people functional.
Having said that, if you still want to, ask your doctor and go over the consequences at least and assert your viewpoint, I mean that's why one goes to a doctor for an opinion and its a give and take or should be.
-- best wishes
Jay
