Maybe I posted this before. I don't remember. But I am interested to find out if anyone is using barbiturates for sleep. My mother used Seconal for years and says it was great for sleep and was an aphrodisiac as well. Sounds good to me. I don't think they are prescribed very much if at all anymore.
Anyone had any experience with them?Zana

No aphrodisiac effect for me. They were kinda frowned upon by people back then, unlike, for example, Mandrax/Qualuudes.
Once a shrink gave me 2 Mandrax from his free supply so I could sleep before an exam.
A clear case of decline of standards.

My neurologist prescribed Butarphanol Tartrate (Stadol) to me because I get severe migraines. She had not cautioned me enough. Only when I said "hey, this really knocks me out" did she say that I was only to take it if I were about to go to the ER. Yes, it will knock you out.
I feel that I have to warn you though, it is sooooooo addictive. It is addictive very quickly. It is addictive in that you will need higher doses and closer together, and it is addictive in that you feel a rush then stoned and I - for one - enjoyed it. I was a mess for about three weeks then I went cold turkey. I will never touch that stuff again.

I don't know, what's the first chemcical? barbital....well, maybe that will calm some stuff right now.
Seconal is well known, just know, it's dangerous. "Follow Directions, Take 1 capsule nightly if needed" Not 2-4, you'll get to sleep, only noted thing, Respitory shut down. That's why, there not considered standard, or substandard, few cases maybe it's used.
Take care, i need sleep myself. Xanax, or Halcion/Prosom is a good - temp good sleep. Just one thing Halcion is "fast" lasts 1 hour, wears off "fast", in the past, read articles, causes "psychotic reaction's". Prosom lasts 6 hours, halcion is a sleep "inductor", not "maintatience" Prosom maintain's sleep, won't wake up. Barbiturates are too, strong, defiently you will be sedated, but some people have slept during alarms going off(Seconal, Nembutal), that is why, there obsolete to almost everything that today has. Safety, but, in some cases, they work. Take 1 capsule. I had just studied, about alot of classes of medications for about 3 years, forgot some..but definetly reading 1960's report's and death's, mm mm, pretty bad.
Lunesta is popular today.
cross my fingers, get some sleep;)
