Anybody else on pristiq having problems with sleep? I'm waking up after 6 hours and that's after taking remeron, seroquel and klonopin!

Well, I've only been on the pristiq for a week so we'll see what happens as I settle in. But 6 hrs of sleep is not enough for me, even using provigil during the day. I really need a good, solid 8 hours.
I see my pdoc tomorrow. We'll see what she says.

i found the first week or so the most stimulating on pristiq. but it very much did back down after that. in fact i thought my depression was coming back.
it took quite a while to kick in for me but when it did. it worked.
once i leveled, i never had any bad SE, no sleep issues or over stimulating and i was on adderall as well...i'd give it another week. if it doesn't get any better might mention to doc. maybe they can adjust other meds abit if you want to stay on pristiq.

Thanks a lot for that information. Yicks, scarey to think that your depression was coming back. I have felt much less depressed in just the first week on it. I hope it doesn't poop out after this... It's always scarey for me with meds because I have been on so many and had them work and then fail or not work at all. Pristiq is kind of a last ditch trial in the SSRI/SNRI family.

I once tried Effexor and there was no way I was sleeping on it. The insomnia, nausea, and sweating were so bad I only lasted three days. But I can see Pristiq having some of the same effects since it's basically the same drug.

ya pristiq was kinda a last ssri for me too.
but just so you know i have heard accounts from about 5 people that for them the first week or so was Great, then it really backed off, then about 6-8 weeks it kicked in again.for me it took a bit longer, but i held out. my pdoc even upped pristiq to 100 at one point hoping it would help, but the stats are right, wasn't much difference between 50 and 100 for me. i supplemented till it finally kicked in.
so i guess i'm saying that if you DO notice it go down, hang in there if you can and ride it out to about 6-8 weeks. it should level by then.
Best wishes.
