I just wanted to introduce myself. I've been reading the messages for a while and think there are a lot of really smart and nice people on this board!
I'm another run of the mill treatment resistant depressive. I thought I had been on a lot of different drugs but you guys have me beat! I can't take any SSRI's, they give me migraines and balance problems. I've been on Wellbutrin (450mg) along with various TC's for a lot of yearsl, with partial relief. I tried Lamictal and it turned on my rheumatoid arhtritis big time (too bad because it made me feel better). I am now in the process of upping amytriptilene at night and washing out the Wellbutrin so I can start Parnate next week. I'm kind of afraid of the diet, but have read some really positive things about Parnate (here and on suggested sites that I found here), so it should be well worth it if it works.
Thanks for listening to my rambling! Any tips on the Parnate would be appreciated!

I don't have any tips on parnate but I wanted to welcome you. You might try a post with parnate in the title. That might get you more helpful replies. Good luck with it. I'm just trying Pristiq but have bombed on all other SSRIs. If this dosen't work its on to MAOIs for me too.

hi. my guess is that drugs that block alpha1 are especially helpful for parnate insomnia. i forget what dose amyt starts doing that significantly.

Hello ColoradoSnowFlake, welcome! People are really kind and smart here, I agree (and I've only been here a short time). I wish I could offer Parnate advice, but I haven't gone down that road (yet--maybe I will--I'm still kind of afraid to). Please let us know how Parnate works for you. I'm sorry to hear you have rheumatoid arthritis, too!!!! SSRIs are nasty sometimes, aren't they? Anyway, good luck to you!!
