Just wanted to get a thread going on D-Cycloserine. Few threads a while back and years ago about it's utility for fear-extinguishing exposure therapy adjuncts for people with OCD...but i'm curious if it has more general antidepressant, anti-social-anxiety effects.
Is anyone currently on it? If so, how much/how often? How long did it take to see results...what are you on it for? Basically the whole shebang on your experiences. I have some on order that i'm looking to try, hopefully to help with my ruminating thoughts and social anxiety and general horrific state of depression I'm in right now, which has been refractory to (so far) 18 sessions of ECT.
Help me please, otherwise i'm going to kill myself one of these days I fear.

I hope the ECT helps, but you need to find a med that will keep the depression at bay for good, IMO.

I've taken it for social phobia.
I think it helps with anxiety, but it is weird - before I took it I had an interest in being social. Now I don't care.
I think it did something permanent or long-term to me. I can't say it was exactly positive.
Sorry this is so vague, but that is how the effect is - vague.

> Sorry this is so vague, but that is how the effect is - vague. For you perhaps. Every medicine or drug will not effect everyone the same way. I dont feel in my care that D-Cycloserine had a long term effect. I always have side-effects right away, and they never improve at all, so I knew enough to stop taking it.
Had I not, perhaps it would have made a long term change, but it would have not been for the better IN MY CASE, only. Like they say: Y-R-M-V.
This is the end of the thread.
