Anybody have any good stories about getting off seroquel? I have been taking it for treatment resistant depression. It's made a very modest difference at 300mgs. But I also think it has increased my anxiety and boy does it have bad press about diabeties and elevated cholesterol.
I'm on pristiq and risperal to replace it and decreasing 50mgs a week.
I really hope I don't get depressed as I decrease it because I really want to get off it.Thanks

Zana I'd be glad also. I'd think a taper. How easy for you is it to change meds? I don't have any problems. So I'd cut by 50mg and see how I feel and keep cutting down every few day. That's me and I sure others will have other suggestions. Love Phillipa

>Seroquel is being used as a way to keep people from getting a benzo by many doctors here in the US.
They dont even ask if you have high blood sugars or high cholesterol without adding a medication like Seroquel which is under a class action lawsuit for causing diabetes at present.
Bad stuff for those who don't need an anti-psychotic med to substitute for a benzo.
Like I always say: If they don't drop the bad meds, drop the Doc. :-)

I could not stand Seroquel. I had a lot of side effects at 200 mgs, but the main one was this axiety/restlessness. I titrated down pretty fast. I don't think it had helped my depression to start with so I wasn't more depressed without it.
I have some 50 mgs pills, which I might take when I can't sleep. I cannot find doctors who give benzos anymore.
