How is everyone? I just thought I'd give an update with what's been going on as far as coming off the Paxil and being medication free for 2 weeks. It's been hard but not as hard as I expected. One good thing is that my sister told me I sound more like myself when I talk to her on the phone. I laugh more and seem more outgoing than when I was on SSRIs. So I guess one of questions is, does anyone know if the EMSAM will make me less outgoing and dull me up like the SSRIs did? I'm still having the rumination issues, motivation issues and problems with my ADD. One good thing is I don't think I'm depressed, though I hope the EMSAM will help with the other issues I've been dealing with for a long time. I'd like to finish some of the things I start for once and stay in college.

Monica have you discussed how good you feel with your doc? Maybe he'd want to wait before starting emsam see if depression is gone. Was this your first episode of depression? Maybe you could take just something for the add? Or does the doc think EMSAM will up you? It's a hard decision to make. Please journal your feelings without meds now before you forget. That's quite a feat and congratulations for weaning off the paxil. Love Phillipa

I found that SSRIs - ALL OF THEM made me unable to feel. I couldn't even cry though I wanted to. I am on Parnate now and I am feeling emotions again and it's great. I am sure it will be same with the EMSAM for you.
Keep us posted!
