I will be starting Celexa after an MAOI washout period this week. I have 17 days until I go back to work again.
Is it realistic to expect to see some reduction in my depression and anxiety symptoms (given, not completely by any means) over this period of time?
Appreciate any feedback.

Hopefully you will be an early responder and see some improvement in that time. It's hard to say of course. Do you usually respond quickly to meds? Phillipa

I think I am, but I've been mis-prescribed for the last 10 months that I am not sure anymore.
Hopefully the early "adaptation" period is over in a week and I get some of the therepeutic effects in this time.

I think it is completely possible to begin to feel better within your timeframe. Absolutely. (Of course, there are errors to be made in over-anticipation and impatience when things don't improve quickly enough--but you don't need me to tell you that.)
I'm holding onto the idea of a positive response for you,

Thank you FB and I agree, in theory I should be bottoming out about now (9 days into my washout period), yet things aren't THAT bad. I do have my moments.
I start Celexa on Friday, hoping to get thru the adjustment period and start feeling some of the positives after that.
Thanks again for your support.

If you are not symptomatic right now, then I would expect a smooth transition to Celexa. However, if you are prone to anxiety, Celexa can cause/increase your anxiety for the first few weeks. That was my experience, but I stuck with it and used Celexa successfully for several years.
