OMG, Inderal LA kicks *ss! LOL

Posted by Deneb on May 10, 2010, at 15:39:22

I just had a very stressful day without being stressed! Today was the first time I worked 8 whole hours and did the drive through at the donut shop where I work. The drive through is intense! It is extremely busy and to me confusing!

Anyways, it was only me and another guy doing drive through and it was insane! We had to take orders no matter what we were doing, get the drinks and food, take money and hand over the food. Meanwhile we had to stock up and make coffee constantly so we didn't run out. The other guy was extremely stressed out!

I had had trouble with tremors and anxiety at work and I took regular propranolol 40 mg for my shifts at first, but I found it wore off. Well today I tried Inderal LA 60 mg for the first time. I took it in the morning and amazingly I was still OK at the end of shift!

I feel like I have an unfair advantage over others at work. LOL Anyways, Inderal LA kicks *ss! LOL

I felt stress free the entire 8 hour shift. I was a bit tired, but not anxious and in a good mood the whole time. I was bright and cheerful to the customers and didn't get frustrated at all when things went wrong (like how we suddenly ran out of sugar! lol)

It was great! I love Inderal LA! Plus I think it is smoother than regular propranolol. Regular propranolol sometimes makes me feel weird, like nauseous or something.

Is Inderal la for anxiety? Is that what it was given to you for?

Yeah, Inderal LA was given to me for anxiety and also for my tremors. My tremors get worse when my sympathetic nervous system is in overdrive.

I just have a very easily triggered fight or flight response.

Inderal La is propranolol that is packaged in such a way as to be long acting. For me propranolol prevents my body from stressing out and that in turn calms my mind.

That's great Deneb, good that you discovered something that helps you with the anxiety. Do you take it on a schedule or as needed? I think you should definitely stay on it. Are beta-blockers habit-forming like benzos? I don't think they are. Regardless, if your anxiety is much improved you should probably stay on them.

I l.o.v.e. Inderal. I use it for test anxiety and it definitely increased my scores.

It is the oldest beta-blocker, and my pdoc says it "blocks adrenaline".

It is widely used by professional musicians to combat stage fright.
