Has anyone experienced muscle weakness, stiffness, or pain while taking Marplan?
My lower back in particular has been affected.
Thanks for any feedback.

Only since the Marplan? I ask as arthritis could also be a cause. You also excercised a lot in past. I know I have it. Hoping it's not the med. Phillipa

Hi SLS,
I have a mild (like, very mild) headache once in awhile (not HT crisis), bruxism, and insomnia, but otherwise no SE.
Wishing you the best--since going to 60 sometimes I feel better than others, in other words, it's doing something but won't be sure it'll take me completely out of it by itself until it's been another few weeks.
How are you doing?

Yeah. I have some mild bruxism as well. I wish I had insomnia. Drugs don't seem to work well for me unless they have this effect on me. Hopefully, my assumption is wrong here.

Marplan began to kick-in for me last weekend. The improvement was unmistakable. Unfortunately, it didn't last. I am hoping that things will be different in a few weeks. These transient responses I experience are the rule rather than the exception for me. They are also a big tease and lead to great disappointment.
I hope this muscle thing resolves. I might increase my lithium just to see what happens.
I had hoped you would be cured by now...
:-)
I'll say a prayer for you.

I woke up this AM feeling much better than yesterday, even. I am trying not to over-DSM-ize what's going on, but that's hard to do when you're as knowledgable as we are on this board :-)
(In other words, the pessimist in me is going, are you rapid cycling zonked? Probably not.)

Ditto. We're a lot alike. You have no idea how much your support and mutual struggle have helped me--to know I'm nit alone. I appreciate it and weirdly enough, IRL, even away from the computer I often wonder how you're doing.
We'll heal from this--if this doesn't work out, and I do more trials and they don't work out either, I'll just find a doctor who'll prescribe bupenorphine as a last resort.
Hang in there, Scott. You're a good man.
