I don't know what to think of this but I don't think I like the idea of the government developing or releasing meds not that I don't feel the pharmacy industry is doing a good job. I have read that gene theraphy is leading to new breakthroughs in medications for physical disorders but don't post them as not psych meds. SDB where you been? Phillipa

The thing that's dismaying about this article is that they admit just how amazingly little we know about brain disorders. I mean... we know practically nothing.

Once they begin to get away from the standard serotonin theory the better off we will all be. They need more selective drugs. Not drugs that bombard the system and produce every side effect under the sun. I wish they would start focusing on the reward system in the nucleus accumbens.

Yeppers, you are very right Bob!!! Not much better than the days when they prescribed opium, amphetamines, combo drugs like Triavil, etc. They know zip. And we're the guinea pigs!> The thing that's dismaying about this article is that they admit just how amazingly little we know about brain disorders. I mean... we know practically nothing.
