Prescription for Nardil, UK

Posted by ewart on January 25, 2011, at 6:22:33

Hi,

I have taken Nardil for several years by now, it is the only med that works for me. It takes away the depression and gives me life, phenelzine is what i need to live, this is a vital chemical for my body to function correctly, it corrects my neurochemical communication rate and allows me to feel emotion again.

The problem is, it is not available, where i live, previously i have obtained it from different online pharmacies. Currently i have had problems getting it and i'm out of it completely. I have researched all of the options and come to one conclusion-i have to come to UK, to a doctor, who will prescribe me decent amount to last some time after which i will returne to UK for the next script etc.

So, my question is, can anybody please suggest me a respected pdoc in UK, preferably in London, who would prescribe me Nardil?
I have heard, that some docs don't want to prescribe it, but before i come, i need to find a doc that will! Please advise!

I posted my question to this site, because a can see that many people here are taking it.

Kind regards!

where are you from?

at any rate, my suggestion would be to contact a psychiatrist at a university hospital. they will be familiar with it, as opposed to some local psychiatrists. however, I am sure they will want to see some documents from the doctor who treats you where you are from, and who will be in charge of treatment.

good luck!

I just learned, if you're from the EU, a doctor in your country can write you a script for phenelzine, it'll be valid in all other member states.. of course, that doctor would have to do a little research before, since it's not available in your country as you say, but a good doctor will be willing to do that if you do need the med.. at the pharmacy in the UK, they won't check whether phenelzine is available where you are from.

Yeah, they wouldn't need to check that, but only a small number of pharmacies would be happy to dispense prescriptions from abroad. It would be difficult to validate the authenticity of the prescription and the prescriber. Also, there are language issues if there are any queries. UK Nardil is a fridge line which presents problems with transporting the medication at the correct temperature.

Ok, it's true that those might be issues. I just happened to read the information on this EU website:
http://ec.europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/health/chemist/prescription/index_en.htm?profile=0
It reminded me of this situation, so I thought I might post it. I have seen pharmacists (or rather the one of one pharmacist where I asked) willing to accept foreign prescriptions, though he recommended me to get a local doctor for the longer term.
