Anyone still on Clomipramine?

Posted by Roslynn on January 28, 2011, at 14:24:41

Hi all,

I have been taking a combination of Prozac and clomipramine. I saw a new doctor who is taking me off Prozac and increasing the clomipramine to 75mg. This means the clomipramine will be my only antidepressant. I guess I'm a little worried.
Is anyone still successfully taking clom as their only AD?

Thanks,
Roslynn

Clomipramine is supposed to be one of the most effective ADs around for people who tolerate the side effects. I wouldn't worry about it not being effective, and if it doesn't work out you can always go back to clomipramine + prozac.

I take Clomipramine to treat both depression and OCD. Nothing has worked as well. Some consider Clomipramine the gold standard for treating depression. I wouldn't worry about it, except up your dose if you feel symptoms returning.
