I finally took the lamictal for 2 days now, im back, i can focus somewhat, but lamotragine does keep me away from being depressed, but it won't let me get excited, like i went to class the other day and started work on articles and within 30min, the lamictal made all morning stimulation feeling go away, back to just baseline, and that's what it does, yet like i said if i stop it completly it causes me to lose focus and i have a difficult time adapting to the withdrawl of it.......can't focus scattered, up then down.....
but Depakote i was on a short time in a psych, but it produces more sedation than lamictal.....yet...in a way it was good but it's nore for treating mania than depression.....
i see my doctor tommorow at 12.....hopefully it works out but does anyone have experience with depakote here on the boards?

If you don't like the way Lamictal makes you feel, I doubt that you'll like Depakote.
There's no reason to continue a medication if you don't think it's helping. But you have to gradually reduce dose of Lamictal you can't just stop taking it.

there's two things, there's one pro: it makes me leveled and able to think ok....with out my moods shifting while i think (which effects getting things done) ill be one minute fine while im working and then ill think of one thing that bothers me and it totally messes up my task.......
but the con is i feel boring, i don't like get euphoria excited about things, just ... like always leveizes everything to baseline
i took depakote once, but depakote works on GABA, lamotragine is sodium blocker

Why not just take a lower dose of lamictal? From what I recall, you are taking a really high dose.
