I was prescribed it briefly for akathesia. It is an anticholinergic medication. It can help with movement related side effects of antipsychotics.

i was going to be prescribed it when i was in the psych hospital, i was on 30mg of olanzipine and it made jerk, like having the hickups all the time while talking, then had a extreme jerk episode, lasted about 10 min, very scary so i discontined to 10mg, my doctor told me she would give me cogentin, but i just....i said lower the dose to 10mg, everything went normal after that......but like today i can tolerate 30mg fine with no jerking or hickups while talking........but cogentin it's good for antipsychosis med induced parkinson's dieases like side effects

Give it a try and see. I didn't have many side effects. It can cause dry mouth and possible memory impairment (temporary).
It is an anticholinergic medications, and actually has (or had at one point) some street value.
