I always got and still get *three* notifications for every followup to a thread containing some *ancient* posts of mine (May 1999 or earlier).
The problem seems to be unique to me - no one else seems to be complaining.
I visited babble after long time and saw the registration requirements, so I registered in order to post this. This would *not* automatically solve the problem for those notifications that are related to old posts - that would be a different (though unusable) handle - the name there was pandey_m; it is pandey_m@hotmail.com here.
These threefold notifications never bothered me before, but now that I have my life much less disorganized, it would nice if the babble administration sorted this out.
Dr. Bob, does this need your personal intervention? Something *I* need to do to fix this?

Thanks, that is exactly what happened. I wonder if it can be undone ...

> Thanks, that is exactly what happened. I wonder if it can be undone ...Next time I get the triplicate notifications, I use the option of "not wanting to receive further notifications of postings to that thread" on *two* of them - that should fix it. (If it kills all notifications, then the multiple-notifications-per-post-caused-by-more-than-one-notification-enabled-posts-on-the-same-thread thing is definitely a bug, not a feature!)

Your handle before was "pandey_m"? Unusable how?

That's exactly right, see the 5th paragraph of:

Unusable no ways; on the contrary. Thanks Dr Bob for correcting me. I just registered the old handle and am using it (for this post).
(The lapse of reason, on what was a tense day, went:
now one needs a password to post.
the old handle has none associated with it.
ergo, it is unusable.) <sheepish-grin >regards.
This is the end of the thread.
