Ever since you put the old timers boards up, hardly anyone but newbies post on social, i feel like we have all been segregated. Maybe i am really upset or just mad cause i am suicidal right now and only one person responded to my thread.

Lili, my post to Manda was meant for you too. I'm just not at my best right now & hate to see all the hurt. Sometimes, I look at PB & the other boards & it all looks too much to read - I feel so mentally/emtionally bogged down now. I still care, Lili - I'm just weak now.

I predicted that this very thing would happen - that with the formation of the new *restricted* (exclusionary is my choice of word) boards, that this would fractionate (word?) - meaning divide up, segregate, separate and in effect *weaken* the whole website set-up.
I predicted that what was once a cohesive, supportive, solid community would be divided up and lose its focus. This is precisely what has happened imho.
As I see it, PB and PSB have both been compromised by the new set up - there is less posting at these sites, especially by old timers, who have valuable info and insights that are now being missed. This is not to say that newbies don't have a lot to contribute, they sure do, but the presence of old timers at PB and PSB has diminished, and it would appear that this is due to their migration to their own *private* boards. I so strongly agree with Jay.

I posted to Bekka on the 23rd, she said thanks. On the 24th and 25th, I posted to LiLi 5 times. PB2000 had been open since the 9th. I said all I could say to her on those days.
She's not doing great right now and I wouldn't bring this up other than to point out that you have flawed research. If I felt I could help her I'd still be posting.

End of the story you were wrong on??? Seems 50% of your 'cause' is, right off the get-go, wrong. PB is doing fine. The sky is not falling, Jay.
Time will bare this out. So, the boards haven't gone to hell so all that's left for you is calling all old-timers elitist, power hungry, etc.Jay, You and those who agree with you do me a favor. Read all of our posts, every one since the board started. Show me 1 post where an O-T is talking down to a new person on real mental health issues-not this admin crap. There's not one single time.
There was a guy on this board a few years ago, suicidal. If I remember right, someone from his city, with the help of others on the board, got him help. Someone correct me there if I'm wrong..I'm talking about Vesper.
Noa is the kindest, caring person on this board and has supported hundreds of people.I'm pointing out a few individuals to show that we aren't a huge political lump of humanity trying to take over the world. You and everyone else involved seem to do lot's of great things and you are knowledgeable.
Old timers love this board, and this is exclusive, more than you possibly can. We have seen more and have stayed. Do we deserve our own board when we still post on the others? Yes, we do, Jay.
There's just a few of us arguing about this. I'm easy going so some people who have known me here haven't seen this side of me. I don't like this side of me. But, you know, Dr. Bob is a good carpenter and he, more than all of us, doesn't deserve this. You know what, Jay? Let's give it a while. This could be great for this board as easy as it could be a disaster. But there's a lot of carpenters here, Jay. As far as jackasses, that's not my call.

I'm sorry you felt unsupported. I also read you message, and IsoM's reply to Manda which seemed very personal and moving, and hopefully some support for both of you. I suppose I felt there wasnt anything particular to add. And, thinking about it, there's a part of me that thinks that we keep saying the same things to people who are desperate and suicidal, so an 'oldtimer' like you would know them already. I realise now that that isnt a logical move by me- of course, its more than the words, its the concern behind them at the time you need them which matters. Even if the words are repeating previous stuff.
I'm glad you posted again and said explicitly that you wanted more, and then got it.
Makes me wonder, is there an issue of quantity here ie people feel unsupported if they dont get several messages? Hadnt thought of that.
I also dont think we are a guaranteed service,like a 24 hour crisis hotline. Tho of course I hope that people do get the support that they need.
I cant comment on the newbies- I havent been keeping track properly.
If you want support, maybe say so and nearer the top of your message- sometimes we are just sounding off, and there is certainly an issue of sheer number of messages posted (I dont read most of them these days- dont have time).
