I must say that the forced week off (Dr. Bob, if you're reading this, you did me a favor by blocking me!) did me a WORLD of GOOD - it enabled me to have to take the time to take a deep breath (actually a few deep breaths!), re-group, and do some soul-searching, which resulted in a fresh new perspective on things, especially the 2000/2001 boards!
During the time off, I had a *revelation*, like a light bulb went off in my head ... one day, suddenly, out of the blue I found myself asking myself the question - how would I feel about those new boards if I was BRAND NEW to this site, meaning how would I feel about them if I literally just registered, got to the PB board and read about the various boards available here?
My answer surprised me - I realized that if I just got here, i.e., with no prior knowledge of the site before the 2000/2001 boards, not only would these boards not bother me, but I would actually think they were an interesting part of the website, not an "exclusionary" problem area, but rather simply a place where posters who had been members of the site for several years and had bonded over this time could go to gab, catch up, etc. :-)

Beginning to look like the 2000 board ain't doing too well. I think so much bad blood got stirred up, it seems, that OT's(some) may have just left again.
I'm not blaming anyone. I was as nasty as anyone. Now, we'll see if it can make it, I guess. Kinda sad.
Maybe it just needs more time.
Anyone have any theory on it?

Phil:The OT's are responsible for the OT board - it's up to them to keep it going. Any bad blood here could and can easily be ignored. In fact, seemed to me that it had been. I didn't see it crossing over to the OT board at all.
Just keep it up on your end - if the OT's feel threatened by any of the opinions here, just avoid them. I would guess that's what folks who are still uncomfortable with the new boards have chosen to do with them.

Just thinking out loud. Not pointing fingers.
That's why I asked for input. Guess I got some, huh?

i "hope" that's what folks uncomfortable with the new boards will do. i agree that it can't go on forever, well, that it probably won't provide any benefit if it does - i guess it Could. :) round and round. but i'm still not surprised there was flack at the beginning.
i'm sure the ot board will do fine.

My suggestion to Dr. Bob was that he make the Reunion Board just that. Time-delimited. Reunions aren't supposed to last forver--you catch up, you spend a while. Now if he followed *my* advice, it wouldn't seem like a negative thing if that board kinda peters out.
Phil, you are appointed to carry my idea back to 2000 and spread it around. You know, kinda like margerine.

I was all excited, posted this thread about coming to terms with the new boards and wahhhhhh nobody commented on it! :-( I'm bummed. Interestngly the thread turned into a whole different discussion! Oh well, this sometimes happens with threads that start out one way and wind up in a whole different direction ...
Garsh, I was hoping someone would acknowledge my realizations and new feelings ... oh well ...!
Just had to whine ... thanks for letting me whine!

... count on you for support! Your kindness, thoughtfulness attention, consideration, and courtesy are greatly appreciated. :-)
BTW, I was a bit nervous/scared to post my new perspective, so I especially appreciate your comment that it was courageous of me to have done so!

I was all excited when I saw your topic "RE: a week off, a fresh perspective" thinking you would have some interesting, funny (you have a great sense of humor and wit) comment about my post, only to click on your thread and find NO such comment from you, your thread didn't even address what I said (at least not that I could tell!) and then your thread proceeded to take my original post in a whole different direction!
Ya stole my spotlight! LOL! ;-)
It is interesting to see how a thread that starts out a certain way can be turned into a whole different discussion!
Garsh, I was thinking that you were going to be acknowledging my realizations and new feelings ... oh well ...!
Just had to whine once more ... thanks for letting me whine! Think I'll go get some cheese for my whine ...

Janelle, honey, of all the people who could have echoed the sentiments of my subject line, you are the *least* likely person on all of PBabble. . . .
Lemme put in another way: there seems to be some kind of cognitive gap, between the JANELLE we all know and love. . .and this itty bitty quiet little unheard janelle you think you are.
Trust me, to us, you will always be JANELLE.

I posted what I did about "nobody pays attention" and then that goofy message to Phil as JOKES, in jest, as in hah-hah, laugh. Did they not come across this way? EEEEEK.
What do you mean by "there seems to be some kind of cognitive gap, between the JANELLE we all know and love. . .and this itty bitty quiet little unheard janelle you think you are." ???
Could you describe the characteristics of JANELLE? I don't understand what you're getting at with your thread here!
Thanks.
