Like if you respond to this post, and you thank me for pointing that out, I will know that what you are probably thinking about it is not terribly civil :D
(also an attempt at humor, hope it comes across that way)

Well, I DID say I guess. But be careful reading my mind. It could be scarey. Oh and thanks for your reply :)

Rex, I cannot second guess you on your intentions in this post. But my feeling is that you were being sarcastic.
Just my honest thoughts,

If I thank you for not second guessing my intentions would you consider me sarcastic?
I agree that it is sometimes difficult to discern the emotional tone of others' posts. Even emoticons are of limited usefulness. I would like to offer a possible solution. Links to Eric conveys an Emotion. http://www.emotioneric.com/ For instance if I intended my post to be sarcastic I would post
Thanks Dr Bob http://www.emotioneric.com/sarcresp.jpg
Other emotional tones might be
Thanks Dr Bob http://www.emotioneric.com/consternation.jpg
Thanks Dr Bob http://www.emotioneric.com/flirtatious.jpg
Thanks Dr Bob
http://www.emotioneric.com/perturbed.jpgThanks Dr Bob
http://www.emotioneric.com/anger.jpg
Thanks Dr Bob
http://www.emotioneric.com/bemusedr.jpgI think my intent was bemused resignation with a dash of consternation. I try not to be sarcastic and have found that the best way of dealing with percieved sarcasm on this forum is to take everything at face value(until I came up with my brilliant idea of linking to Eric).
As Jack Nicholson said Sarcasm IS Anger's ugly cousin.
