Hello everyone.
I actually started coming to Psycho-Babble in 2000. I frequented it often in that year and in 2001. After that, i've only come here to "pop in" on occassion. Anyway...my problem is this-
I've done "searches" for JUST the Psycho-Babble site in the past and never had a problem. Now-this is the second time I have come back to this site to search ONLY through the sites archives/history and everytime (last time I tried to search and just now) I type in my search question and even though the dr.bob is marked off (NOT Google or WWW) when I hit return it ONLY brings me to the Google search. (Am I making any sense here? LOL) What in the world is going on-am I just a dope here and doing something wrong that is right under my nose?
Sorry so long....just wanted to explain myself as best I could. I really, really would like to search JUST Dr. Bobs site for some things as I have in the past NOT "Google"......I keep trying and trying and only get the darn Google search.
Thank you to anyone that may be able to help me here. I truly have no clue what in the world I am doing wrong (why I can't just search this site as I have in the past).

I can't tell you if it's working correctly, but google is the default search engine now. I'm not sure how it works on archives. Seems like I've had trouble with that unless I specify the poster. You can specify that by 'poster:postername'
Maybe if you give an example of what's not working?

I think I might understand what you're asking... I'm pretty new here, but I believe there used to be a built-in Psycho-Babble search engine, which was probably what you used when you searched here years ago. But as far as I know, (1) the old Psycho-Babble search engine searched only posts through June 2002, and (2) Dr. Bob removed the old search engine, and the site now uses only Google to search the archives.
The Google search can search only the Psycho-Babble site. When you type something in the search box and leave the "dr-bob.org" button selected, you will end up with a Google results page, but if you look closely, you'll notice that the all of the results that appear are from the dr-bob.org domain -- i.e., even though it looks like a regular Google results page, it only searches dr-bob.org pages.
I hope this makes some sense.

Yes, I did notice that all the Google stuff was for this site but it also brings up other things than what I asked for (Paxil CR)....and it used to be so much easier (I think) when you could just search this site-less "windows" opened up on the screen and you didn't have to use the "back" button (which is a pain in the butt) to get back to the first page (hope you understand that! lol)
Oh well. I wonder why that search option for just searching this site was taken off....? No matter. Thank you both again so much!

The indexes were taking up more and more room, plus Google does a pretty good job...
