I feel that all these posts telling people to be civil by people i feel are bad mannered is way out of order.
I also feel offended by what i feel is the pseudointellectually simplistic championing of the pretentious and facile 'I statements'.

for your rude and inappropriate comments to Dinah (below), who is going through her own personal turmoil while doing a job here which has rules. if you don't like them, leave. this isn't about a fellow babbler but Dinah is wonderful so PBC or block, i wanted to say this and i did.

I appreciate the support, but I'm going to have to ask you to please don't post anything that could lead others to feel accused or put down. Your post above was a wonderful example of civil support to a poster, and I'd have felt just as supported with that post. :)

I'm not sure it's a rule, but Dr. Bob has sanctioned posters in the past for doing it. It may fall under the don't post anything uncivil even if you're quoting rule.

Remember what is futile and what isn't.
I get a kick out of watching people get under each others skin and losing self control. I'm sorry. I will not give anyone power over me by being uncivil (at least I try.) You are all friends of mine, civil or otherwise, and I know drama is exciting, but name calling and throwing sticks and stones is a little immature.Hint: just trying to help someone (anyone) keep it together. :)

It's the algorithm. It's not personal, it depends on how many warnings have precedented the violation.
That's why sometimes the most vicious statements aren't blocked, and people are appalled, it's because it's a first time offence.

but Gabbi explained it best. i let my emotions get the best of me over Miss Dinah whom i adore...i do not usually post anything 'uncivil' purposely, i leave things alone. i'm not saying it was right either. there were better choices of words i should have used. xoxox
