So if you're not getting psychotherapy for ADHD, and you want to talk about other than medical interventions, where should you post it? Is it a Health thing? I suppose you could call it establishing healthy behaviors, but that's a stretch. Unless the behavior I want to work on that's to cope with ADHD symptoms is yoga or something.
Is it a Social problem? Is it for Self-Esteem, maybe? I'd likely feel some self-esteem increase by developing better coping skills.
Perhaps instead we should have a Behavior board, I don't know.

yes you could ask the same questions about the "symptoms" of depression or anxiety or personality disorders too

A Problems in Living board would be nice. I feel franklydisturbed sometimes when reading alternating posts of suicidal despair and everyone's favorite flavor of ice cream on Social. That board's a little too much like a box of chocolates for me personally.I always thought it was a good thing that PB didn't define boards by diagnosis like most MH boards do.

I'd love to have one, but I'm not sure I could focus on it for long.....

A place to discuss behavioral interventions -- like me not going to bed, ARGH! -- and offer suggestions and experiences of our own? That sounds good to me. Not specific to any one dx, I don't think, but general. It's not really psychotherapy, but it's also not really social.
Could be, of course, we should just post to Parenting -- we are, after all, kinda trying to parent ourselves....
No, that was a joke. Not a good one, but well meant...

Yeah, or I'd be hyperfocused on it for hours, even if no one was posting, or worse even, I'd probably
forget where the heck it was...i.e., "where'd I put that new board again?"

I forgot to tell you. My eldest got her PHD.
Now she's a pair-o-docs.
<not that that has anything to do with parenting.>

We can't get any anti-ADHD drugs here, and that'll make us feel left out and envious.
How about US standards for the treatment of ADHD, European standards for pain relief, and more medicines from the former eastern block?

I'm kinda crabby today still. Otherwise, I'd probably chuckle at those posts. But I'm genuinely struggling with ADHD symptoms now, so I'm not all that inclined to laugh about it.

oops, sorry.
I genuinely struggle with those and other ADD symptoms every day of my life, too. I guess I've just come to a point where poking fun at the times those tendencies *can* end up being funny helps relieve the burden and put it in perspective.
But that doesn't mean I should be assuming that's true for others. sorry.

Bummer.
I know the feeling. It's always been a problem for me.
What can I do to help?
