I was just curious, how much does running this forum cost every year? I would think the bandwidth is substantial. Do you pay for it yourself, or is there some other form of funding, such as advertising or a research grant?

The server's about $200/month, but I'm not charged for bandwidth. There's some revenue from the Google ads, and from Amazon, and I pay the rest myself.

So if we double double quote more it saves you money? Or do we actually have to buy something?

I love you Dr. Bob! Thanks for keeping Babble alive and spending time here. Maybe some day I'll get a good job and can donate some money, but now I'm pretty poor.

Only buying saves me money, but double double quoting makes it easier to buy, so I appreciate that, too. :-)
