Friends,
I am unsure as to what the poster here is wanting to mean in the subject line as coupled with the text of the post,[...For no good reason...].
As I combine the subject line with the text, I am unsure as to what could have the potential IMO to purport here for if there is {no good reason}, then could there be {a good reason}?
I am also unsure as to what the phrase in the subject line could mean. I guess some could consider it to be advocating something, could it not? And if it is advocating something, what is it advocating in your opinion?
I am asking those considering to be a discussant in this thread to post what in your opinion the subject line coupled with the text here could mean to you. If you could, then I could have the opportunity to respond accordingly.
Lou

It will not serve this thread well for you to change the subject line, especially since it is precisely the subject line that you are scrutinizing.

I again ask that you respect this forum and not change the subject lines every time you post. Let's not look to try to remediate this behavior by asking for another rule of posting to be added.

Please consider this as a cordial invitation to keep the forums well organized.

Well I was happy to settle for medicating his virtual self, but if Rodney King's too busy these days....?

;)

Oh dear dear dear...

Anyone seen that movie "What the #$*! Do We (K)now!? (2004)"..? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0399877/ I like the scene near the end where it depicts us all as bags of mixed chemicals, reacting to other chemicals...

And furthermore...I was unaware of the "need more cowbell" phenomenon, so I did a bit of digging. Take a peek if you're a SNL / Will Ferrell fan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKuv0Ebj59U

And remember "I've got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell"

:)

Not get it?

I have the highest amount of respect and admiration for Dr. Robert Hsiung MD. I greatly appreciate the time, effort, and investment this man has dedicated himself to in order to provide Psycho-Babble as a presence on the Web.

"Let's beat the hell out of Dr. Bob."

Pretty unseemly, you know?

That's what I say. Whenever I visit the Administration board, I see high drama citing some purported character flaw or ulterior motive of the doctor that many times include profanity and epithets. It is ugly and disrespectful. I don't understand why a respectful tone is insufficient for anyone to get their point across. I am no angel, and there are times when my frustration with Dr. Bob's decisions relating to how the site is to be run irk me. My tone is not always as respectful as I would like it to be. However, I don't go out of my way to write caustically of the doctor. It serves very little purpose. I don't see how the way he runs his gift to us of Psycho-Babble should be ridiculed as is so often the case seen here. Take the best and forget the rest. I feel nothing but gratitude for the doctor. Some people act as if he owes them something. He owes us nothing, yet he does everything. We owe him respect, at the very least

It is too often that Dr. Bob gets beat up for no good reason.

I agree Scott. It's so rude considering we're all "guests" here. He must have a pretty thick skin by now....!

I believe that if anyone really doesn't like the way Babble is run then they're free to piss-off & go start their own forum elsewhere...!

However, text is a crap way of conveying meaning. Lawyers make a fortune out of trying every possible interpretation of an otherwise well structured law / paragraph / etc. Over time, even dictionaries need to be updated.

So..... forgive the tired eyes of those who didn't realise you were being satirical. I get tired too. :)

Wanna see an example of someone NOT getting their OWN joke...?

Take a look at this thread: (Geeeeezuz..!) Start at the top & work your way down. http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/20080519/msgs/829985.html

Now "I don't get it"....!

<insert huge "eye rolling" smiley here>

:)

I've thrown a few jabs at Bob over the years myself Scott. Rightous indignation I thought at the time. I confess though that some swings were unjustified. Then again I've found Bob to have been a good sport about most of the hits he's taken. I think its because he understands that he becomes a target when we can't beat the crap out of each other.

Friends,
It is written here,[Satire...(Mr. Hsiung) is not the target.Get it?...].
I am unsure as to some of the aspects that could be interpreted from my reading the post here in question in context with the other posts in the thread. If anyone can post here their opinions of the following concerns of mine, then I could have the opportunity to respond accordingly.
A.If the generally accepted meaning of {satire} is used here, which could be to ridicule something, what is being ridiculed, if anything, in your opinion?
B.If (Mr. Hsiung) is not the {target}, then if there is a target, who could the target be in your opinion?
C. If it is questionable as to if someone reading the post in question could (get it), could something be added, in your opinion, to make what is wanting to be purported to be got more clear? If so, could anyone add more clarity here so that it could be clearer?
D. other good and just comments to add to the content of the thread
Lou

Please be sensitive to the feelings of others (such as those who really don't like the way Babble is run).

But please don't take this personally, either, this doesn't mean I don't like you or think you're a bad person.

I encourage anyone who has questions about this or about posting policies in general, or is interested in alternative ways of expressing themselves, to see the FAQ:

http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#civil
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#enforce

Follow-ups regarding these issues should be redirected to Psycho-Babble Administration. They, as well as replies to the above post, should of course themselves be civil.

Thanks,

Bob
