Bring back 2001

Posted by zenhussy on July 1, 2008, at 4:33:51

The 2000 board hasn't archived since DECEMBER 13 2004.........almost four years ago!! That isn't exactly blazing traffic. If the reason for removing the 2001 board was for lack of traffic then could you at least compare the stats to the 2000 board that you have chosen to keep around? What makes the 2000 board worth keeping that the 2001 board lacked IN YOUR OPINION?

There are many writings from 2001 of ours that we miss, and also those of two deceased ppl that were most dearly loved by many, self included. It is all the more painful to know that this board still exists somewhere on your server(s) or within one of your databases.

Babble might have been your experiment at one time and currently has different purposes FOR YOU.......but try to remember that TO US, the users of this site, the mentally ill populace, those posts and words sometimes were the difference between life and death.

There is a deep ache in the heart knowing the board most likely will not return to your site and will forever be a vague memory for many minds clouded by the psychiatric drugs necessary for survival.

Please....please bring back 2001. If not then please explain the rational used to keep 2000 but remove 2001. What merits did its removal bring to PB? Was it a decision that you thought best for the community? Or was it for some personal benefit that the community wasn't privy to?

I would like to add...

p.s. not meaning any anti 2000 board sentiment

thanks Bobby and GG.

hope the first post didn't come off as anti 2000 as that is not intention. more of it helps remind all of us what we've been through and to see names from then along w/ the archived wriitngs shows the progress many have made and reminds us that many of us continue to struggle so many years later.

there is much to be said for so many of us surviving considering the hardships so many endure. it is almost amazing we haven't lost more to these diseases/disorders. perhaps the support of the posts from when this board was in its early days might be the very key to how some managed to stay alive. it is entirely possible....

What about people from 2002, 2003, etc.?

I think I would feel discriminated against were I to have started posting in the years subsequent to 2001.

Maybe just get rid of 2000?

Are you saying that everyone should be denied access to beloved posters who are no longer living----so that later posters can "Feel good" because they're not discriminated against?

I'm afraid I don't know what is the intended meaning of this remark. I hope it's not sarcastic. I really don't know what to make of it. Will someone please edify me?

Thanks.

I'm confused. What does the 2000 board have to do with any other boards? Thanks!

I say start a new board for each new day. Then, no one will be able to converse with anyone.

Is it possible to have both boards avail for reading, but no longer open to posting?
I agree it feels divisive to have these boards for only certain people.
Then they might post there, and not in the general forums and so their posts are lost to most.
But I understand people wanto be able to access old stuff.
None of my beeswax I suppose anyhow.
