I talked to someone about my recent problems here on Babble and it occurred to the other person that maybe there is some misunderstanding as to the meaning of love when I use it to describe my feelings for Dr. Bob.
I just want to make it very clear that it is not sexual in any way. I am just not attracted to Dr. Bob that way. I would say the love I feel is more like loving a family member or pet.
It is strictly platonic and it would freak me out if things got romantic. Maybe I should replace the word love in all my posts. Would people be more comfortable if I talked about how much I liked Dr. Bob instead? Some other phrases I could use: fond of, have respect for, look up to, would those be better?
OK, it is done then, from now one I will no longer use the word love. I will find other phases that more accurately reflect my feelings. It seems like most people's definition of love is different from mine and maybe that is where problems arise.
