Why don't you just turn on auto asterisking for all posters? Wouldn't this make life easier for everyone?

You wouldn't have to waste administrative time sanctioning people who accidentally used a prohibited word. Posters wouldn't have to worry about whether a given word was allowed here or not or about whether they had auto asterisking turned on or not. New posters would have one less setting to think about and could concentrate on learning the other rules of the site. Older, possibly more jaded, posters could focus their discussions (ok - brawls) on rules that really matter instead of getting sidetracked by discussions who who got blocked for how long for saying #$@$# years and years and years ago.

If you don't want swear words on your website just take them out automatically. Everyone will win if we take this one minor issue off the table.

Jane
