I have adhd (probably inhattentive type) and I'm going to start Ginko while I wait for L-tyrosine.
My question is: Amen suggests 60-120 mg of Ginko twice a day and this means 120-240 mg per day (if my undertanding is correct).
The capsules I managed to get are 40mg (brand: Pharmaton). Does this mean I can take even 6 capsules per day ?
I'm asking because the recommended dose written over the box is 2-3 capsules per day but maybe they didn't have in mind ADHD-persons.
Are there contro-indications with non-psychiatric-meds ? (like FANS and so on)
Empy stomach or full stomach ?
Does tolerance devolop ?
Thanks you all.

I took olny 60 mg (2 capsules) in the morning. The capsules I have are made by the herborist so they are not "controlled". The recommended dose (written on the label)is 1 capsule but I took two of them at once because in the past I took one and I didn't feel any difference (or at least I didn't pay attention to the effects because I thought it was just a placebo).
Anyway, I've read on some post that a possibile explaination of how ginko works is the raise of serotonin. my contribution to this issue is that I experienced a lot of Anafranil's sensations while on it. I was a bit aggressive, less empathetic, more concentrated on myself and so on. I can not manage to attribute this to placebo effect because the effect was too strong.
the best thing is that now I know that supplements can change something. I won't exclude ginko for sure from my regimen. maybe I will try with just 30mg and see what happens. I bought also the "Ginkoba" (made by Pharmaton) because at least I know what I'm taking.
I don't think Ritalin could have invalidated the experiment because I had quit it some days before the Ginko trial and it has a very short half-life as you know.
anyway, ginko helped me with energy level and to some extent with focus too. I can not say I didn't feel any effect : )
