NADH, known as nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, is a coenzyme, partly made from nicotinamide (vitamin B3).

So is B3 good enough ?
Or is NADH more shiny special?

Yes.
It's kind of like the difference between methionine (the amino acid) and SAMe (S-adenosyl methionine) the antidepressant. They're structurally related, and one comes from the other, but they're not functionally equivalent.
NADH is a key part of mitochondrial respiration. The mitochondria are the energy factories for every cell. In many chronic states that involve fatigue, there are measurable deficiencies in the function of mitochondria. NADH diffuses into the cells, and boosts the energy output of mitochondria.
It probably won't do much for someone whose mitochondria are working right (because their body would be making enough of its own supply of NADH), but for someone with e.g. chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia or maybe depression, it might provide a real boost.
You still need B3, even if you're taking NADH.

Ron Hill and I both found that a high initial dose regime (10 mg/day) was something like "filling up the well", but that fairly quickly felt like too much (well overflowing), so a substantially reduced dose was needed for maintenance (keeping the well topped up).
I think both of us used 10 mg/day for about five days, and then the dose was drastically cut....I use 5-10 mg/week, on an intuitive dosing schedule.
Good luck. I hope it works for you.
