Can anyone tell me what the difference is between a Naturopath and a Homeopath is? I'd like to see someone for my mood swings and bitchiness that I've been experiencing lately.

A Homeopathic Practioner only uses homeopathy to treat your symptoms.
And in my case it has worked wonders with chronic problems (inner ear infection) and some more acute problems (foot cramps).
Where as my Naturopathic practioner works on my body with herbs, vitamins, salves, and poultices. I would not go to either if I had a broken leg.
I had a friend who went to a Naturopathic Dr. for her intestinal problems and she ended up dying of intestinal cancer....she didn't get a proper diagnosis in time. She finally got the right diagnosis but it was too late. She died shortly after . I go to a AMA Dr. for a proper diagnosis and when it turns out to be something non life threatening then go to the NDR . It's a slower process but my NDoc treats my entire body when working on the problem I come in with.
I hope that helped.

I would agree with everything posted above except that my naturopath uses homeopathy on top of herbs, supplements, dietary and lifestyle changes, etc. A little of everything. Too difficult for me. I never got very far with my naturopath because I never wanted to cut dairy, wheat, sugar, caffeine AND alcohol out of my diet at the same time. I was nursing a baby, lost 10 pounds and was shaking from hunger. I was not willing to go through with this to get rid of some excema on my hands! But if I had a more significant problem it might be worth it, and some people like refining their diets like that, I'm sure.
I've tried a few different homeopaths, and homeopaths talk to you for quite a while, to get a holistic view of you (your physical problems, mental, food cravings, dreams, etc...) and then prescribe one "remedy" that matches your symptoms. It can either be taken once, or multiple times, depending on how acute the symptoms are. I once took a one time remedy for excema, and the excema I had been trying to get rid of for years COMLETELY DISAPPERED, after only this one dose.
I'm not trying to say homeopathy is better than naturopathic medicine, just different, with different levels of involvement on your part.
Good luck.

It was mercurius vivus, but don't try it unless a doctor recommends it for you. It was a 'consititutional remedy', meaning one that is based on my personal holistic profile. Every person would have a different one, depending on your individual symptoms -- physical emotional and otherwise. A constitutional remedy changes too as a person heals and grows, and I know this first hand as I tried mercurius vivus a couple of years later and it had no effect.
See a homeopath who can give you one!! Good luck!
