What inihibits nitric oxide

Nitric oxide reduction has been shown to simulataniously decrease the beta adrenoreceptors, as well as substantially increasing hippocampal neurogenesis. Does anyone know of any compounds natural/synthetic that might lower nitric oxide levels ??

Hi, found this on a search..

"Anaerobic nitric oxide reductase; uses NADH to detoxify nitric oxide (NO), protecting several 4Fe-4S NO-sensitive enzymes."

iNOS synthesises NO when triggered by the immune system, and eNOS is triggered by calcium entering the cell - think there's other forms or NOS, have seen nNOS (neuronal) - sure there's lots of other factors! Also think neurotransmitters hitting G proteins in their receptors trigger it too, so it's essential for neurotransmission.
