It is difficult to say since it has not been around for the period that other antidepressants has.
I would say by its biolocial nature that it has less of a chance of pooping out than other AD meds, IE SAMe actually workse to repair the receptors and nerve sheaths instead of just boosting the neurotransmitter inbetween.
It is, of course, always possable for the depression and its own circumstances and stressors to superceed the powers of SAMe.
But as for the mechanism of the supplement failing, I don't know.
