Has anyone tried this for anxiety and acute stress?I found this little tidbit of info,I'm sure there's more in depth info on the net somewhere, but it sounds pretty good as far as natural anxiolytics go.
In 1995, Garum Amoricum was tested on anxious Californian students in a double blind, placebo controlled cross-over trial. A marked improvement was seen in sleep, energy, mental fatigue, depression, anxiety and appetite overall, a 79% improvement was noted.
Dr Dorman, research leader at the California Polytechnic State University, said "after using Stabilium for more than three years, I think it is more useful than benzodiazepines, not only because of the complete lack of side effects, but the patients do not suffer a sedating effect".

As far as I know from my own studies of Roman culture, garum has as much meaning as would our word ketchup. It could be a lot of different things, and still be ketchup.
As far as the actual name garum amoricum, I can't find the second word in Latin, so I presume it's made up.
It could be snake oil. It could work. <shrug> They claim it contains polypeptides, so it could provoke an allergic response, yet they also claim zero side effects. Again...<shrug>

I think it might be armoricum instead of amoricum,if that makes a difference. If I decide to try it,I"ll keep every one up to date.Supposedly they use it extensively in France,Spain and Japan for high sress and anxiety states and for ADD in children instead of Ritilan.

I tried Adapton without success. By the time the dose was high enough to do anything it made me feel unpleasant. It's a while ago, I forget exactly how that was.
