Not sure on the chemistry of how it works. Lamictal has been the only pharm drug to help depression w/ in the past 4 yrs, BUT, the insomnia is brutal, and is not worth taking another potent drug for (seroquel). What herbs/supplements might offer the same effect? And mind u depakote did nothing for me. Topomax seemed to help, but horrible SEs, memory loss.

Larry can't answer you. He's been blocked for 6 weeks. I think in the past he has mentioned taurine as a mood stabilizer. You might want to do a search here to see if you can find a post by him on this.k
