Licorice is supposed to be a powerful MAO inhibitor. In fact, some recomend it over SJW for depression. Has anyone tried licorice ??

>I ate it a bunch as a kid. Nowadays you don't see it on candy shelves. Maybe it prevented me from getting ADD :-)

Licorice is used in just about all TCM formulations. So I've taken a fair bit of it, probably at lowish doses, when you remember that there might be 20 herbs in the combo.
Unfortunately I didn't get any relief from depression with them. They were better for anxiety, but that wouldn't have been the licorice, I imagine.
