feverfew ok for liver?

Posted by linkadge on November 19, 2006, at 19:49:51

I am taking a few drugs which may affect the liver. I don't want to add stress to that with herbs. Has anyone encountered any reports of feverfew effect on liver..good or bad??

I have been using it for insomonia and mild/moderate headaches.

It has some 5-ht2a/b blockade like the atypical antipsychotics, although no effect on dopamine.

I find it partially stimulating partially relaxing. It seems to have some antidepressant properties.

Feverfew certainly prevents/eliminates my mild headaches, and somehow makes me feel more open and observant.

It also undermines my ability to concentrate, makes me feel like nothing is worth doing (slightly depressogenic), and makes my sleep shallower (I sleep straight through the night but wake up tired).

Verne and others have had success with it, though, so if you've stumbled on this thread I'd say it's worth trying. I've used it in a tincture, 30-50 drops at a time, but it's just as active as a dry herb.

This is the end of the thread.
