I've just started taking Glycine & I love it!
Really calms me down without being sedating.
I don't know how effective it would be as a standalone treatment for Psychosis, but it fairly safe so you might as well try it.....
I think I remember it being used in doses of up to 30g a day, sorry I'm tired & a bit incoherent, that maybe incorrect

When I took it, my doctor told me to take 30-60 grams a day, for psychosis. I don't remember much side effects, it seemed pretty safe. I do seem to remember a little sedation. Only problem is it didn't seem to do much for the psychosis.
So you are back on the Seroquel? XR this time. How is it? Does it help. Any heart problems?

Glycine does have some antipsychotic properties. I have had good experience in the past with glycine. The problem is finding the right dosage. Some people can take very large amounts whereas people like me can only take moderate amounts, say a maximum of 4 or 5 grams per day. I did have the experience where I took 7 grams and had a bout of depression, so be careful of your dosage. Try smaller amounts first and see if that is helpful. One source says that for psychosis, you might need 30 grams per day. To me, it sounds preposterous. Taking an antipsychotic medication would probably be safer than downing 30 grams of glycine per day, not to mention, probably less expensive as well.
