I have heard and read that it's being considered as valid treatment to resolve both trauma and addiction issues.
I note as well that it acts as an MAOI. Any idea how long I would have to be clear of meds that interfere with it?Not certain I am pursuing this - taking classes in shamanistic rituals, and I've met a Canadian psychiatrist who swears by this ritual plant as a "cure" for addiction.
Many thanks

It sounds kinda risky, but i can see how you think about it.
I tried Iboga and it did nothing for me. Neither did Kratom.

I am going to see what the neuroscientist has to say about the risks. There's no hurry, and I don't want to hurt myself.
Thanks.

That sounds reasonable. I have also heard about iboga and ayahuasca.
Probably not for me being schizo.

I haven't heard of that being considered a good treatment, no. :-(
The Canadian doctor I met who endorsed the shamanistic use of ayahausca is Dr. Gabor Mate. I believe he's speaking this September at a conference in Spain about it.
His treatment specialty has been those heavily addicted, and patients with ADHD.

Just be careful. It might open a gate that you can never close again.
All of that psychedelic stuff.
