That's really exciting! I can understand why you might be a little anxious about it, though.
Maybe your hospital has a website where they describe what this program is.
"Brief Therapy" is a term that is used for short, time limited therapies. I want to say 12 - 16 sessions, but my memory is not very good so that could be wrong.
I'm not sure how you can have a "Brief Therapy Clinic", though.
Did the letter say when it would start, or give hours?
When you were in the hospital earlier this year, did you see any outpatients coming and going, or was everyone inpatient?
You could make a list of questions and call the hospital (I always do better if I have it all written down).
Or your pdoc should be able to describe it on Monday.
I'd check the website first.
Good luck!! Let us know.
Sorry for the rambling...

That's great JYL! I understand why you'd be nervous about it. When does it start? I don't think it's unreasonable to call to ask a few questions about what to expect.
I hope you find it helpful!
(I don't have much experience with *brief* therapy.)

Hopefully I'm correct in writing that this is just another term for day hospital that follows a hospital stay. Mine lasted several months and included group and individual sessions. Brief therapy usually indicates 16-20 sessions with a therapist. The two are very different situations, so I would most definitely ask what to expect.
best of luck, judy
