Chances of weight gain?

Posted by msurtees on December 2, 2003, at 8:07:33

Hello.

My doctor started me on Zoloft just over a week ago. I began with the 25mg and, yesterday, started the daily 50mg.

I'm surprised that I'm already feeling better...calmer...no more anxious churnings in the stomach.

BUT: now I'm worried about all the stuff I'm reading about weight gain. Yes, my doctor told me it was a possible side effect and I said ok. But, I'm wondering HOW possible and how severe?

I know everyone is different, but is it VERY likely? Can I almost consider it a guarantee? Zoloft's web site says it's NOT likely...I would expect them to say that of course.

I'm hoping to have someone tell me that they did NOT gain weight. :(

If not for this one concern, I'd be very happy right now considering what the med has already done.

Thanks for reading...and thanks for having this great forum...I'm very happy to have found it.

Michael
