I've been dealing with anxiety for about 8 years now, and depression at various times, but over the past six months the depression has gotten to be way too much. Paxil was helping with the anxiety but quit - I started scratching my ankles and have given myself a horrible rash, various other skin picking, and getting the occasional anxiety attacks - not as bad as the full blown ones, but still having them. My therapist sent me to a pdoc and he put me on Effexor and Topamax. So I am weaning off Paxil while starting the Effexor - took it this morning and so far feel ok, a little "off" and thirsty and tired, but nothing big so far. I start Topamax tonight - I hear it makes you really drowsy? I'm kinda concerned about the possible side effects of both of these - every time my eye hurts I wonder...but that's part of my problems, always worrying and expecting the worst. Anyone had luck with these two or can share some experiences? I don't want to worry myself too much but I do want to be on the lookout for things...WebMD makes Topamax sound pretty intense...of course I've been on Paxil for a while, and come off it once before so I know what to expect on that, hoping the Effexor will help with that. Anyway, just looking to hear from others who've used it. Thanks

Sorry if it's confusing, but there are a number of boards here, and (just plain) Psycho-Babble is the one about medication. Here's a link:
