A good therapist knows how to deal with transference. I don't know all the details about what happened with your ex-therapist, whether he/she developed counter-transferece or what. So, it's hard to say whether or not your current therapist's reaction is valid. Can you clarify?

Hmmm...
Maybe he just thought he had done as much as he could for you. Perhaps, he was frustrated with himself. It's hard to say, can you call him directly and ask exactly why he terminated you? That would give you an upfront answer.

I think it's just odd that your new therapist would "out of the blue" say it is your fault that your old therapist terminated therapy. Were you talking about your old therapist in the conversation before she said that, or did she just say it? It seems rather harsh, IMO. But, I've been following your "story" and it kinda sucks. I'm sorry :( I'm kinda having the same fears right now actually. Well, not that my therapist will transfer me based onhis own feelings, but that I'll get booted for being "stupid" :)

But, maybe you should try to continue working on your feelings regardin your old therapist and the termination, if you feel you haven't completely resolved those hurt feelings yet, as I know I wouldn't have at this point. Do you feel you have a grasp on the situation at this point? Do you know the whole story? It sounds to me like she has a different opinion than you do, as to why therapy was terminated. But accusing doesn't help in the healing process, IMO. I'd let her know, but that's just me.

i have somewhat of a grasp on this but at times my life falls apart and i lose sight of everything ... my new tells me that i shouldnt be feeling hurt or angry but i think i should be ....

Can anybody else really tell you what you should be feeling? You *are* feeling that way. I don't really understand what's going on--it seems very confusing, and I hope things get better for you.

Well don't disappear from this board.

I hope you can talk things through with your new t. Would it be a good idea to start by telling her how confusing this all is.

Good luck!
