I've been through exactly what you describe. About a year ago I was in an absolutely horrible work situation, and I can't tell you how many times I was walking home through downtown San Francisco, crying and paging my therapist. Thank g-d he always called me back promptly, and I was able to find a place to sit down (outdoor mall, benches outside where people eat lunch, etc.) and calm down. But it was difficult.

PS: This is my second self-imposed cellabacy 'vacation' I am on in hopes of getting my sh*t straight (again)... The last one was 18 months... I'm at the one year mark on this one... I am not an 'untouchable' because I'm not married and not enmeshed nor otherwise indentured to anyone... I can hug you long distance without any risk...

What was happening for you at the time? It sounds like the effects were devastating for you.
