I like them, especially to relax.

My husband hates them.

Okay gregorian chants lovers in the closet!

I also like them but a steady diet of any music makes me a little edgy. Throw in some Bach cello suites with some old Joni Mitchell music once in a while, and I'd be happy in the music room.

I got to know the cello suites by listening to Paul Tortelier's recording, which I loved. And then a couple of years ago I got my hands on Pablo Casals's recording. Wow! I adored Tortelier, but I just went straight to heaven without passing Go when I heard Casals.

I don't think I know any Joni Mitchell, but I suspect I would like it.

I would be pretty happy if we could also have some blues in the music room. Preferably all kinds of blues; from the early Bessie Smith stuff to boys with expensive guitars.

Camp Comfort

What great ideas! I think we need a Mr. Roark-type, or maybe Mrs. Garrett who would meet with us to determine exactly what we want in our bungalows. And there would have to be a community gathering place of course, with places to sack out there if you wish.

My fantasy would be to have fresh flowers in my room everyday. Each day a different bouquet or flower. Doesn't need to be fancy, just new and fresh and lovely.

Aroma therapy, guided meditations, a waterfall, singing birds (only on cue, not when you are trying to sleep!), dogs and cats (okay, I'll be fair...but only non-allergan producing cats!), sing alongs of old 60's and 70's tunes, lavendar-scented sheets and sleeping masks, of course a wonderful chef who makes scrumptious and healthy food as well as yummy treats, games, books, arts and crafts, sleeping all day if you wish, staying up all night talking (AllDone, we could certainly do that!), nothing at all which is threatening or scary.

sigh

I like them too. I was a music major for one semester in college.

But I do like variety. Bach, Debussy, and (not just to make Daisy happy, I like them too) Peter, Paul and Mary.

I'll bring my guitar and we can sing pretty folk songs.

Questions about Camp Comfort

Who qualifies to check-in? Must we have a T who is on vacation, or may those of us who have terminated, been dumped, or otherwise lost our T's attend?

Are shoes absolutely required? I'm all for having shoe shopping readily available and I'm very in to owning fine footwear, but when it comes to relaxing, barefoot is how I like to be. Plus, I think my feet are my best feature. Sadly, as I age I fear I am developing cankles so I'd like to show off the feet and ankles while I can.

Other things I'd like to see:

Featherbeds - I saw some mention down comforters, but we need featherbeds too.

A kick**ss air conditioner in my room so I don't get too hot b/w the featherbed and down comforter.

Staff especially for keeping me company until I fall asleep.

Comfort food that's miraculously calorie free.

And would anyone be willing to brush my hair? It's red (natural), shiny and soft so it wouldn't be entirely unpleasant.

I'd be happy to! Is it something you enjoy a lot? I have all kinds of really nice smelling shampoos too. I'll bring them to share.

can we also have:

Bean bag chairs, big soft pillows, rice krispy treats, campfires to sing around, and can we make giant sand sculptures on the beach?

I like the beach idea and being by the ocean, but I'd also like a swimming pool set at the perfect temperature - not too cold but refreshing.

I might like an arts and crafts area, but for me, the crafts would have to be kind of simple so I don't get frustrated or lose focus. Projects that can be finished in an hour or two.

Coloring books and a box of 64 Crayola crayons w/sharpener.

A swing set.

Board games...again, simple. Chutes and Ladders, Candy Land, Life and Go to the Head of the Class.

Cake. Cake. Cake.

Someone playing the piano.

On-site Godiva store.

Maybe our therapists would be required to make a relaxation tape for us to listen to during our stay.

A gift shop with therapist appropriate cards and gifts so we can stock up for any card/gift-giving needs that might arise throughout the year. All gifts would be therapist approved so there would never be any concern that they can't accept something.

Breakfast at any time of the day so I can stay up all night talking to gg and sleep through the morning.

And will someone read stories to me?

I'll be checking in on Wednesday at 7 p.m. :-(

Parts of this were mentioned, but for me - feathers

Feather bed, feather pillows, down comfortor - a feathery womb to crawl into.

I treated myself to that at home, and it's heaven.

I'm envious. I don't. But I may buy something soon. At the point when I realized I liked them a lot, it wasn't a good time $$-wise, for me to be spending on CDs.....still isn't.

Can you recommend anything? Something you own and like a lot? In case I break down and treat myself in the near future? (Maybe direct any reply to Social...we're really stretching PBP at this point...:-) )
