I scored 31 on the Goldberg depression inventory today!! It was 59 in November. Just wanted brag a little.
It's hard to believe. That is still mild to moderate depression but it is such a big improvement. I see a therapist infrequently but I do CBT/DBT exercises frequently and walk and meditate every day. I also take fish oil and recently chromium. I used xanax occasionally. I feel so much better. I do think it is due in large part to the therapy. I was a skeptic but I was desperate enough to keep on.
I still have moments of intense sadness but that in itself is a change-I have a much wider range of emotions overall.
My anxiety is still a major problem though. In fact it gets a little worse when the depression lets up.

Congratulations!!!
I've always found depression to be a good dampener of anxiety. When I was pregnant and off all meds, I would try to maintain a state of mild depression, without dipping too low, to keep the skyrocketing anxiety at bay.
