I have had psycho therapy over the last three weeks. It is going okay EXCEPT I hate paying for the session at the end. It feel very wrong for me for some reason. It's hard to explain. I feel like a whore in some ways. Maybe I can give some post dated cheques or something.
Can anyone relate to this (even though I did not explain very well).

I don't know what it is, but I do know what you mean. I've had the same reaction at times. Less as though I was the whore, but more like I had to pay for it... (Oh, yeah, I guess I do have to pay for it -- if the "it" is talking...)
I don't know what might help -- ask to be billed? Or ask if you could pay at the beginning of the month, or the beginning of the session?
Oh! Hey, how could I forget -- this is therapy you're talking about: have you talked about this? (My therapist would be so proud of me for asking...) It's probably not that uncommon to feel that way -- I think it's because we do form an emotional connection to our therapists, and then it gets reduced back to money. Whyever it happens, though -- it still interferes, so it's still worth discussing.
I'm glad you're seeing someone you're liking.

Maxime,
Yeah I get it. For over a year I made out a check but never put on it who it was "to." I so get it.

LOL...I gave my t a check for $1.95 once, because I told him that was all he was worth (or, that the week previous, he wasn't helpful).....he got quite a charge out of it, LOL

>Racer, what you wrote above is so true. It's like I am all emotional and then I have snap back to reality and hand over money.
I will discuss it next week. :)
