does anyone want to talk about anger treatment?

Posted by rjlockhart37 on July 17, 2013, at 19:36:29

I really hope this post doesn't go into the archives and buried....lol

I've realized i have anger issue that I repress....and its time to discuss it out...its at home, or at friends, wherever there is social interaction... when someone directly, or just makes a insult....I can't control the rage that comes...my whole thinking changes, from being quiet and happy....too...extremely mad....i'll try to use a specific example, but its hard because there's so many of them, but say like my brother, or my close friends, or anyone that I put faith in, and they turned on me, viewed me as meat to chew up and throw away....so after realizing that, I could sit there and cry about it...and be vunerable....and no one in the world would know either....or I can get angry...and not get hurt...

but really I've got to talk about this, it gets to the point the whole persona changes, and will do things I will regret, the cold side. How do you release it? like my parents, and some of my friends have said things that just made me change, get heated.....

I've thought about this, I've got to learn to keep the cool, just drop what they said to me, and have duck feathers....but don't you get angry when you feel violated?? doing something, or someone gossiping behind my back... that's exactly what happens with me....

when it happens this is a system put together:
let the initial phase of their insult/action/treatment pass....just look at them and ok....
this is the part that is hard;
let it pass over you, know what they said, take it in but don't let the boiling part take over...
don't repress it, be active, and learn to find other ways besides anger to be used...well, anger that will regret later...that's what I mean....

You have two options:

You can take it. (Like a little bitch, as the saying goes)

You can use it as fuel for the fire and fight back. Or die trying.

I use it as fuel for the gym. I use it as motivation.

When you really feel that you can't do anymore and you want to quit... Either you curl up and quit or you stand the f*ck up and fight back. You go as hard as you f*ck*ng can for 20 seconds and you don't f*ck*ng stop. Or you do just one more rep. And (depending). Then just one more. And then another.

And you find you are stronger than you thought you were (and their words don't bother you anymore)
And you become stronger than you were (and their words don't bother you anymore)

And you feel proud of yourself instead of hating on life, suspecting / fearing / despairing that they might be right.
